986 puzzle
aiite guys... taking bets ... or guesses  .... what leaves:
- 2 small drops of oil ...
- 1 in front of the other spread about 2 inches apart.
- on the right side of the engine
- in front of the rear wheel, approx where the vent is at
 ...

AOS changed about 5000km ago

Oil filler tube is cracked is my first guess. Typical problem.
Second guess is leaking valve cover gasket(s).

I'm going to say it depends on the year. First guess is a leaking spark tube cylinder 2.

Oil filter is on the left side.

Sorry.. forgot to mention my car is a 2001 boxster base.
So far.. the guesses are encouraging!! Not too difficult or $$$ to fix.

follow up on this topic. ... havent had a chance to get it on jacks to check out ... but interesting i noticed that it only drips a small amount of oil after spirited driving. It would seem symptoms converging to the oil filler tube?

Most likely cause is oil filler. Such a PITA! I had my transmission out when I replace mine and had neck problems for a month after doing it! Get under the car, shine a flash light all the way up to where it connects, it will be obvious if it is dripping. there is a second place that tube also leaks and that is over the joint on top of the engine, but that tends to puddle where it lands and doesn't make it to the ground so easy.

I had the same oil drops in the same place approx. 5-6 years ago. It turned out to be a leaking cam tower cover. The car was still under warranty, so the dealership fixed it. Otherwise, I've read where others have just tightened down the cover bolts.

Yes good one, spark plug tubes do like to ooze oil. Bad enough it will drip.
