What to do with bad 2.5L?

Hey guys,

I recently bought a '99 2.5L with a cracked head. I am half way through a 996 3.4L swap and am wondering what options I have to unload the 2.5L.

I picked up an additional head so I have 1 good 4-6 head and 1 cracked 4-6 head. Along with the rest of the engine and intake.

If you were in my situation what would you do? Disassemble the engine and part it out? Sell engine as a whole? Rebuild engine and sell in running condition? Something else?

Thanks for the input

If your a rebuilder, I would fix it and sell it to someone in need. Remember reading sometime last week, someone in need of a 2.5 engine. thinking........

Cracked heads can sometimes be repaired.

Yes I live in Denver but the engine is in Greeley. Both heads are off but the block is still intact. You're welcome to come look at the engine anytime this weekend if you like.

PM me and I'll give you my cell.

That is interesting. If needed the engine I might've tried that route.

There is pretty good demand for 2.5L motors due to the Spec racing series. As long as it hasn't run a bunch of grenade frag through it she should be useable as a rebuild. If you choose to do the work, document everything for a prospective buyer so they know what they are getting.

Thanks for the input. Where would you recommend I advertise it to get it in front of the spec racers?
