CDR 220 Wiring Question - SEARCHED!!

Guys I am requesting your help! I have searched every forum, every thread, and every google hit I could possible type to try and figure out what the single wire with a rubber coated female spade connector is for that connects to the back left (if you are looking at the faceplate) side of the CDR 220.

If it helps it comes out of the harness that goes to the variable wiper knob.

What is this for???? What does it do???

What does the connector on the radio look like? An actual spade connector or just a tab?

I wish I could find a picture of it. It is just a tab that seems to be built into the case housing near the fuses on the lower right corner (if you were looking at the back)

With the radio out look inside the housing where the radio slides into.On the left side of the metal case there is a male spade connector where the wire plugs onto. When the radio is slid in that becomes the chassis ground for the radio,at least that is the way my CR 220 is.

Sounds like the alarm wire for the radio.
