New Boxster.. help?

Hey guys I recently purchased a 99 Boxster. Took my first look at the engine bay and discovered these two disconnected plugs that have been zip tied and taped. Any idea what they are for?

Can't help with the connectors, but see all that oil around the AOS?

Swap that baby out!

Yes it does look like the AOS could use replacing. Car already has had the IMS,Clutch,Water Pump and Thermostat replaced two years ago. Engine bay definitely needs to be cleaned. Starter & seats need replacing.

When you turn on your key does the air pump start. With the engine hot does your fan start blowing. Those are 2 things I know are right in that area. Other things right under intake is a Knock sensor. A vacuum switch is just beside the knock sensor. Oil pressure switch is on the head valve cover right there. Other than the fan I think every other one of those would cause a engine fault on the dash.

What color are the wires. I was in the engine bay today. The fan and the air pump have brown and red with a black stripe.
