seat belt dinger...
...no longer working and doesn't ding when leaving on the headlights (key off). Is this a simple part than can be replaced? Thanks

I've left my headlights on twice. Nice thing to have a reminder... and why would you guys not want to wear your seatbelt?

Is the dinger under the dash where the plugin relays (or fuses) are located? I know that's where it is on other cars. Thanks.

Do your interior lights come on when the door is open? Sort of sounds like the microswitch has crapped out and the car thinks it's still closed.

thanks! The light does come on when door open, so it couldn't be a door jam switch.

I always wear it when driving, but sometimes sitting in a parking lot I will take it off or if I put something heavy on the seat, it thinks there is a person therer

I understand that the speaker is in the dash cluster. But I do not know that for sure as in having found it when looking. I did see a grill on the back of the dash cluster that might have been capable of holding the speaker, or it just could have been a vent.

I have from a good authority that the seatbelt dinger is in the gauge cluster.
it probably has nothing to do with the dinger, though. They are pretty simple and I doubt that it would have gone out.
The problem is most likely going to be a bad connection at one of the three connectors on the rear of gauge cluster (they should be pulled and re-seated) or a bad microswitch somewhere

So.....are we supposed to get a dinging notification when we leave the lights on??
I had to jump my frunk open this past Saturday because I left the lights on Friday night.
(My DD turns it's off automatically......I can't get out of the habit of just getting out of the Box and walking in the house)

I wanted to recirculate this thread to see if there is any new information on seat belt dingers. Can the dinger be turned on/off by the Durametric?

You know, all this trouble to not be reminded to put on the one device is a car that's saved more lives than anything else? I owe my life personally times two to one and I've worked plenty of fatal crashes that wouldn't have been fatal if someone had just out their dang belt on. Laws aside, is it worth your life?

not sure why any idiot would not wear a seatbelt... just plain stupid. I just want my dinger to remind me I left my lights on. That dinger will save your ass from a dead battery and being stranded. I may call a dealership and see what they charge for dinger repair... evidently not a diy fix.

Love these types of threads. There's always some self-righteous tool that has to spout an opinion completely unrelated to the OP's original question.
For the record, I always disable the dinger and I always wear my belt. Assuming that disabling the one implies an intent to not use the other is either flawed thinking, or just an excuse to be holier-than-thou.
