I found my 2000 Boxster advertised on ebay and then called and negotiated the deal with the dealer, sight unseen (only the numerous ad photos). Car was shipped from California to South Florida. I've had it 2+ years and it has been great. Having said that, although Boxster prices seem too good to be true, Porsche parts and repairs can be relatively expensive so you should have a discretionary budget set aside for possible issues.
