When you pull the latch, the excess cable slack in the broken assembly doesn't get taken up and the window doesn't drop enough to clear the top. When you open the top, I'll bet you find the window doesn't drop as much as the passenger side one does. The fix is to replace the regulator. Yes I have ordered one, going to install soon. Now the only issue is I have a air bag light on due to removal and installing door panel.
So now to find a shop in ohio close to me to get that turned off.
