Welcome! Need a new thread with car pics and mods, please!

I don't think there's much scam to it, just misguided determination to overcome his massive mistake with insurance and driving issues. Then it was only 24mph. Then God comes into it.

Bottom line is huge car payment on a totaled car, parents being asked to rearrange the deck chairs on the Titanic, and with no insurance involvement carfax will not report it. Not fair to the bank or the next owner, but my money says this car never sees the road again under it's own power.

My life and my gf life were at stake I could have had a bad accident with this and you think it's a scam? Insurance? Like I said, I didn't want to offend anyone, but that is a hell of a lot of damage for 40km/h. On top of that, your story changes a bit with every post. You were 30 minutes late with 20 minutes to get to airport, it will cost 2000 to fix, which is your life's savings…but that changes to you have 1000 and will get a loan for 1000 from your mom. Then the damage is 4000 and you would like the people on here to send you some money to fix it. I mention that this sounds fishy and now you AND your gf could have been killed? She was never mentioned before, but ok maybe you just forgot to mention her. Look I had a 944 that I loved but had to get rid of cause there was too much money to put into it. The car was worth less then the repairs. I gave it up and put the money towards my Boxster. I'm not rich and I am sure many on here are not either. I'm sorry for you loss but take the advice and don't put money into that car…it's totaled. Use this as a lesson and insure your next car fully especially if you have a loan. By the way, everyone has it rough these days, so if you have it that rough, maybe you should have waited to buy your dream car. Again, sorry if I sound harsh, just being honest my friend!

BIGJake111 06-22-2014 01:14 PM

Listen to me, my car was recently totaled, you can be sentimental to boxsters but not this specific one. I could have listened to insurance and they would have cheaply fixed my car for 5k rather I fought them to say it was totaled and worth more money, now I am looking to buy a new boxster. It is not worth breaking the bank to keep a specific car on the road, each time a boxster dies, the rarer the breed is in total. I hope you can get another Porsche, and I hope you make a smart financial decision as well.

Sorry for your misfortune. That car is totaled, unfortunately.

Chris, if your insurance is on "cover note", it should still be valid and in force even if you don't have the policy yet. I suggest you report the accident to your insurer as soon as possible.

This is the best answer. That car can bankrupt you.

saintdrug 06-22-2014 03:13 PM

I did but the cover note was third party they won't cover a penny and it's true I had the accident alone also there was water on the turn for those who still want to know details I don't know why it matters like an investigation it was a straight line sped 120 km and then there was a stop lowered to 40km and on the turn there was water so as soon as I turned the car slides hit first pavement spun landed on a road sign by bumping on another pavement my gf told me coz I don't remember this part she said I told her it's OK babe I'll put reverse and we go since the engine was still running and then she goes get down look at the car and realised that tragedy

27k euro bought will cost 2.3 k for spare parts and the reason why I say 4k is because it's labour from 3 people that's why don't know yet the total but the estimation is 4k to fix a car valued here in Cyprus not Hollywood for 27 k engine intact it's not total loss even mathematically this is Cyprus not u.s

Could you not import a British car for like 5k BP? That would still come out much cheaper. I just could not fathom someone investing that much into a boxster without even having a back up fund or proper insurance coverage, I am sorry but you are in a terrible situation.

Deserion 06-22-2014 06:20 PM

It's toast. Plus the parts you listed, you'll need a new hood, new fender(s), new radiators, new condensers, bumper supports. It seems the frunk pan may also be dented inward as well, going off of how bent the bumper rebar is. Plus the left rear quarter panel is wrinkled... you're not going to be able to right this car on the cheap. Not going to happen, unfortunately. Once you start digging deeper you'll find more broken parts.

As much as you love the car Chris, I would scrap it & try and source a car from the UK, sell the parts that are salvageable & use towards a replacement , I don't think that car will ever drive straight even after the repairs & you'll never be happy.

Plenty of uk cars over here for £5k 2.7 Boxster ;)

Dan

saintdrug 06-23-2014 05:21 AM

thanks dan, but found a specialist in UK, that I spoke and he will help me, he said nothing is touched from the chassis, and he is a Porsche sepecialist done those repairs many times, he also said he would be in Cyprus for holidays by chance, and is providing me everything needed.
will give this a try since the cost is just 1650 GBP for all the parts taken from a boxster he has there same model.

Suspension Shock Absorber Struts £350.00 ( complete )
2 Track Control Arms £125.00
4 Front and Rear Steering Knuckles + ABS Sensors £400.00 ( depending on C2 or c4 )
4 Front and Rear Control Arm £250.00
2 Front Steering tie Rod Outer £125.00 ( think you might be better with complete steering rack )
1 Front Side Wing Where the petrol is £130.00
If you can also find me the pipe that goes from the petrol it’s a bit smashed inside. £40.00
Bonnet £140.00
Front bumper reinforcer bar £75.00

saintdrug 06-23-2014 05:26 AM

he just answered:

Hi Chris,,

Thanks for the pictures and it does make it a lot easier this end now.. looks like you need both front wings,, check both of your headlamps to make sure they have not broken off the fixing lugs ( ask your mechanic to check if your not sure ),,, good news though is that you have not had any movement to the front of the chassis as there is no damage to the windscreen which is a tell tale sign that there has been..

Speak to you on Friday and please do not hesitate to contact us if we can be of any further assistance..

Regards
Terry

P.S.. could always ship you over the attached Porsche 911 if you can’t wait for your one to be repaired…..

Well best of luck, with you paying such a premium for the car because of your location, fixing may be okay, still if you can at all try and get compensation for loss of resale value from insurance. And do not forget that you might could even make money if you decided to sell the good parts on your bad car and were to import one from the u.k.
