Yes, one side is brighter so people can see you.

Yes, useful for backing tailgaters off without having to slow down using brakes.

How? Doesn't the parking brake have to be on?

My Box is a 05. Can't remember where I read that but it works! Don't know what year they started that though. Guess that where the ideas of retrofiting comes from.

Parking brake? Again, don't know what year they ended that but my top goes up or down while driving, as long as its under 30mph.

Not on a '99
The top only operates with the e-brake on.

I'm not sure what year they started it, but this is the reason for the mod on earlier models.

You can modifiy the top relay so you can operate top while in motion. I know I did it and many others here have too! You bend a couple of the tabs on the relay so they do not make contact and take the relay apart and solder a "jumper". Of course putting the top up or down an 80mph will cause problems. and I have a 99

OK, time to hand in your "Man Card" real men don't read instructions, or ask for directions!!!!

Just kidding of course

I read the manual while sitting in the drivers seat so that I could push/pull/turn every switch, lever and button while reading the manual
