durametric survey

I am considering the purchase of this tool. I won't need it but for a few things, however I am thinking about offering it as a rental system. I may also offer a scan option. my question is, Is there interest in the rental of this expensive tool?

First of all, $287 is not expensive in the world of Porsche scan tools; in fact, it is absolutely a bargain. With a PIWIS going for over $17K for the first year lease, an Autologic tool configured to do Porsches costing over $70K to buy, you probably should be wondering why the Durametric system is so cheap.

You would also have to buy a Pro version of the Durametric tool to use as rental, which would push the starting price up to over $735.

A rental tool will only work if it has the flexibility that covers all the models, not just a Boxster, which means the $735 tool.

And is there ?
Bear in mind many enthusiast have dura metric all ready and will help out other local enthusiasts for free over beer and bull**************** .
And many specialist tools do the rounds too , just look at the ins bearing tools going all over America for the cost of postage .
THAT is what car communities are about , and long may it continue .
Good luck with your venture though .

I have a Durametric for a few years now, served me very well! Good tool and helps troubleshooting. Used it on the 04 Boxster, our 08 Cayenne S.
I would recommend.
