Garage
I did the exact same thing to my box a few days ago except i wired my garage door opener. My switch is just the up and down not the indicator one. Might have to change mine.

Still have two blanks, even with my spoiler switch...and my original radio (which has only been used when my son drove with me); the engine and exhaust note is so sweet!

I also fixed my broken ignition switch today, using this:

it went pretty easy.
What is the part # for the switch that you used for the garage door opener? That's the only thing that has stopped me doing this mod. I need a switch with an icon that fits the purpose. That one is perfect!

The switch is a 996 Targa switch. Part No. is 996 613 119 10 A05.

Here is a link to my mod;

http://986forum.com/forums/general-discussions/41871-just-finished-doing-garage-door-gate-remote-mod.html

I noted an error in my posting. I said that the Targa switch would only work on the batwing or where the heated seat switches go in Boxsters. I was wrong. They will work on the later Boxsters where the switches are level and not slanted. The above posting show both styles.
