So I guess you failed to read where I said 300HP cars. The fact that you some how interpreted me comparing our Boxsters to a 900HP car is very amusing. And you are bringing up new mustangs. I specifically said 2007 and older. Attention to detail goes a long way.

Street racing, who has done it?
The fact a small displacement NA six cylinder car keeps with 5.0 and larger v8s (not to mention from in many cases 5 or more years newer cars) always be considered a feat and something to be quite proud of about our cars.

Curb weight difference. Back seats, big ol hood, etc.....
The feel of a 5.0+ off the line is impressive. Love that rumble of HP.

Oh I do totally agree if I wanted a car for that I would never choose the boxster, never recommends it for someone looking for that. It is just good to know the car is fairly well rounded.

There was no failure. I also initially never mentioned a sub 300hp mustang. From the beginning I have been talking about modified street racers (I used the mustang as it has a big market share in this type of thing). The comparison is valid (you may laugh here because this is what is actually amusing) because as I stated you could build mustangs like that all day long with the price of a Boxster S. However, if I must play in your small bracket of street racing cars (specifically only ones that would be slower, not the vast majority of what is out there) then yes. I agree 100% the boxster can beat cars in a drag race cars that are slower. However, in a straight line, dollar for dollar these cars are not meant for street racing.
pound for pound it might be considered a feat that a NA 6 could beat an NA 8 granted it would be specific v8s.

Besides, we all know the last year Ford rolled out a decent mustang was 1969.

I never understood any of that. Fake hood scoop and other fake vents.

I made a sign that says "0-100km in 5.1 sec" which I show to those wanting to race. They mostly get a big laugh out of that. They know what their car will do.
