Remove gas pedal - help needed

Trying to replace the carpet in a 99 base. Old carpet was cut at top to fit around pedal. New carpet is not, and though I could cut it, appears that should not be necessary. How do you loosen (remove) the gas pedal assembly from the floor board?

I found one screw at the top, next to the cable, which was long enough to go all the way to the floorboard, but the pedal assembly is still not loose.

Would appreciate your help. Thanks, Joe

Answered my own question. That is the only screw. Once removed, the pedal assembly can slide up along the floorboard pedal mount to release a plastic clip built into the back of the pedal assembly. Be careful not to break the plastic clip. Keep the assembly close to the floorboard pedal mount until the clip is free.

Hope this helps the next one doing carpet replacement.

Take care,
Joe
