This is what I did with my afternoon.

http://i749.photobucket.com/albums/x...305_203643.jpg

Since it seems people I was not clear enough upfront, the reason I spent my afternoon setting up this case was so that I could have a case that fits perfectly in the Boxster rear trunk. It is a little tight so i will have to do a little bit of modification to make sure it fits even better. I am currently moving but once I get settled in I will look into trying to create a front trunk hidden weapon "compartment". so stay tuned!

New case, fits perfectly in trunk of the Boxster. What ya'll think not too shabby imo.

Are you part of the extraction team going in after Johnny Danger?

Be careful and godspeed!

Kenny Boxster 03-05-2014 08:29 PM

Not impressed, you need something like this man:

You'll shoot your eye out!

Lobo1186 03-06-2014 03:01 AM

Ya the car rocket mods are slow going. I do want to make a hidden rifle case specifically for the frunk. Similar to a hidden amp I saw someone do.

ekam 03-06-2014 03:27 AM

What's the make/model of the case? Does it fit the front or rear trunk?

Moderators are going to move this so I'm inserting Porsche content below.

ahhh an assault rifle, bolt action, lethal scopes, the icons of violence, human killings and conflicts..... war etc. Exceptionally beautiful in all sense isn't it

As much as I miss home, I sometime find myself really fortunate to be away on occasion

^Kunming knife attacks show China has a terrorism problem too - World - CBC News

29 people killed, 143 people injured in China by people with knives last Saturday.

Yep, better to be away from there.

Nine8Six 03-06-2014 05:44 AM

Yup the (now trendy) work of outsiders, not done by Chinese. An invasion my man

and they were machete, not knives as reported.

When are they going to ban machete in China?

OKCShooter 03-06-2014 08:03 AM

If you SBR it you won't need to break it down to fit into a big case...ask me how I know:)

Lobo1186 03-06-2014 08:04 AM

Plano Molding | Hunting | Hard Gun Cases | 108360 All Weather 36" Takedown Case

That is the case. I thought it was already Boxster related as I had said it fits in it! Really though the reason I got this case is because it fits in the trunk. It is a little tight but with some slight trimming of the outer edges it fits perfectly.

It actually fits in that case without breaking it down. I just wanted to have long term storage in this fashion so that it would extend the life of my springs. (buffer, trigger). Normally, my weapon is not in the case except for transport or storage. Which is nice because the case is waterproof.

At first I thought you were being sarcastic!!! No, unfortunately for me it is not an actual assault rifle as it does not have a select fire lower. :( I like to think however it is not the scope that is lethal, rather the person behind the ocular lens!

I think that's large and gaudy. I also think that there are forums for your gun porn so that those types of things aren't posted in completely inappropriate places...like sports car forums

But, that's just what I think...and a very censored version.

He's from Quebec, the most anti-gun province in all of Canada. Quebec is also the province where most of the mass shootings took place in this country.

It's amazing how people relate to inanimate objects, such as tools being used, with death.

Cars have killed more people everyday around the world, so why not ban high powered cars that can do twice or three times the speed limit? Ban sport bikes while they're at it too, nobody needs those.

It is hard because you want a case that will fit your stuff but alot of cases are really long which means it will not fit in the Boxster. (Except in the passenger seat which is not preferred.) So this one is a little wider and less long so it will fit in the rear trunk.
So it is fairly large but not so large it will not fit in the trunk :)

I think the picture did not come out too good but I am flattered you would consider this gun porn!.

I do feel it is completely relevant because the only reason I did all of this is to transport my rifle in my Boxster. So if there are other firearm owners on this forum they can see this as an effective case to use with the 986.

particlewave 03-06-2014 09:11 AM

Whatever makes it fit, eh?

;)I like toys of every kind, isn't this the Midlife crisis toys forum :D

I suppose Religion, Politics and Hondas are not great discussion topics on most forums.

Guns fall under Politics I suppose, as do speeding, illegal mods, unsignaled lane changes and making noise.

I think showing off toys falls under Religion as does coveting other folks cars, cussing at stuck nuts and cell phone drivers.

Its a double whammy! ;)

Fun fact, the 986 trunk was specifically designed to be able to fit a set of golf clubs. Also, the frunk was designed for this:

In regards to the forum, everyone has their opinion on gun politics. However, I'd ask to keep the topic apolitical. (Which I understand is hard to do given the nature of the subject).

Perhaps someone can make a zeintop with rooftop missile transport system? Or HID kit so powerful it can focus lasers for people going too slow?

mcdandc 03-06-2014 12:56 PM

How about a two level case? I can fit my M1A1 in the rear area with a scope, no problem.

doragman 03-06-2014 01:07 PM

Just the facts ...not politics -- cars kill WAY more people than guns ...oh wait no they don't .....cars don't kill people any more than guns do, or ladders, or knives of any variety, or baseball bats, or illegal drugs, or legal drugs, etc, etc, etc......

It's part of a society that can't take responsibility for their own actions so they need something to blame it on ......

...if only we passed one more law prohibiting something ......

Lobo1186 03-06-2014 01:07 PM

Once I get a handgun I want to make a quickdraw insert for the armrest. Or do a lower center console delete that has a handgun in there. I was inspired by this picture:

No i mean as the picture shows it all fits. I just chose to have it broken down to extend spring life while in the case.

Very nice!

Don't forget, there may very well come a day when these tools of our liberation and freedom will have to be wielded again.

These are the ONLY things left that stand between you and your government.
Don't be afraid of firearms, and don't ever forget your history...

Will the moderators please remove this thread - its got absolutley nothing to do with Porsche cars (or any other vehicle).
The last few posts are completely irrelevent to what people expect to read on this forum and is totally out of line.

The rifle is in storage right now (as I am moving) so the buffer is like that to release tension on the spring to extend life, same with trigger, its a Pmag seen em run over by 7 tons... nuff said. tulammo is cheap plinking stuff no biggie. Leupold imo > Trijicon. and you are right no hogue grip.

once again. I did all of this so I could have a gun case set up specifically to fit in the Boxster. this thread would be non existent if I drove anything else as I could have used my old too large for the Boxster gun case. No worries tho, I will be taking some pictures of it inside my Boxster once it stops raining. as it has been for a couple days.

and for further boxster topic... does anyone believe the heat in the rear trunk could be an issue for ammo being stored in a gun case?

ekam 03-07-2014 03:11 AM

I think it takes somewhere close to 300F degrees for ammo to cook off.

Well, then the light speed thread, post a joke, and JD's thread about not being himself need to go as well I guess.

If you're gonna whine about guns, just say it. If you get your underwear twisted over the subject, keep quiet and don't post. If this goes, there's SEVERAL threads that would need to go first, based on your judging. Why skirt around what you really want to ******************** about??

The last few posts? There's a BOXSTER carrying those guns, are you blind? This is GENERAL DISCUSSION and we have no sub forum for evil cargo.

Why pull the thread? For the children?

Nice rifle, BTW. Giving you a hard time just like soo many others it seems. I only run pmags as well.
That trigger and buff spring will never care if left in unloaded and uncocked position, I promise. I use Leo and Night Force on several guns.

Trunk heat is no concern. It would take well over that.

The hurt feelings are strong in this thread. Evil, I tell you. Evil. You should be ashamed. Too bad you can't use that for personal enjoyment, target practice, or as a hobby and can only kill with it. :(

Kinda like a Porsche as a street car but it's designed to race?
