Bose woes

I have an 03 Boxster which is completely stock from the day it left the lot 36k miles ago. Out of nowhere the Bose sub- woofer array cut out. I've done the most obvious checks of fuses, fader, etc... But no clue what happened. I'm by no means an expert on audio: any ideas or similar experience? Thanks in advance for any help.

What about the connector on the passenger side where the top folds down. Wiring to the amp in the boot. Just tossing out possibilities.
