PROOF That God Hates Corvettes . . .

God apparently dislikes 'Vettes almost as much as I do!

Sinkhole swallows 8 cars at Corvette museum

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — A sinkhole formed Wednesday under the National Corvette Museum here, swallowing eight cars, according to its executive director.

Sometime before 5:30 a.m. CT, the sinkhole started to form, authorities believe. By 5:44 a.m., motion detectors were going off and police were called, Executive Director Wendell Strode said. The incident originally was thought to be a fire.

STORY: Firefighters save dog from N.Y. sinkhole
STORY: Crews demolish Fla. home sinkhole claimed

When emergency personnel got to the museum, they discovered a sinkhole 40 feet wide and 25 to 30 feet deep, Strode said.

HaHa! What's wrong with Corvettes? C5 was my 2nd choice when I bought my Box 11 years ago. At least none of the good ones were damaged, yet.

Unfortunately many of the swallowed cars were loaned to the museum for display.

That's horrible.
I've nevered owned a Vette. I came close once to buyiing a new one in 1985 when my Alfa Spider was pissing me off. I made up with the Alfa and still have it today. Still pisses me off occasionally....

The 05 and newer are really nice looking car and so much bang for the buck. I wouldn't be opposed to one in the least for the right car/time/price.

I think the C7 may be my next sports car. That car is only getting better while Porsche is only getting more absurd in both pricing and voiding warrantees for any track time.

In France at the start of the 24 LeMans, the French would line up just to hear the American made Corvettes.

I have disliked Corvette styling ever since they went fiberglass. Just plain don't like it. I think it's exaggerated, with a certain comic book quality to it. The new ones are the worst yet, I wince when I see one.

In my opinion. Which is worth what you paid for it.

I had one 14 years ago. It was a fun car. I'm just not a Vette guy. I still believe they're the most bang for your buck! The Corvette went fiberglass in '53 Porsche Chick!

Oh! I didn't realize that, thank you for correcting me.

It was the very late '60's models onward that I don't care for. Not a body style I like.

Too bad, but not shedding a tear. I have always liked the early Corvettes, up until the C-3, but nothing since and the latest "Korvamaro" is hideous in my eyes.

I hope the swallowed ones were later models and well digested by Mother Earth.

If you have ever raced against one in any venue, you know a Z06 is an awsome car. They can be beat, but it is not easy. I don't prefer 'vettes, but I certainly respect them.

It's a damned shame, is what it is.

Lot of rare cars in that hole in the ground. I believe 6 belonged to the museum and 2 were on loan from GM. The 1 millionth and 1.5 millionth cars were in there, as well as a ZR-1 convertible.

If the stereotype is that porsche owners have a thing against corvettes... then ok. Granted isnt the real feud 911 vs corvette. not so much porsche vs chevy?

I prefer fiberglass. From my point of view, it saves weight compared to metal. Thought about getting a fiberglass hood. If you think about it, fiberglass was the carbon fiber of the early age. Both are technically plastics.
