A very good thread Timco. I am emotionally attached to my Boxster and would not want to experience seller's remorse as one member previously did and bought his Boxster back.

I do find it somewhat wearing that parts need to be replaced as the car gets older even though I have only 40k miles on it. Like a thoroughbred horse it needs more maintenance than your average car. Would I sell it at this point for $2k more than what I paid? After 3 years of ownership I would likely say no. Possibly to sell it for a used Cayman but they want too much $$$$ for those still.

So at this point time no. I do not want to put a big hole in my retirement savings for a CPO Cayman. That also would be too nice a car to drive in winter. So for now my 2001 Box base fits my needs well. I look forward to the spring here to see what Boxes and Caymans are going for and to drive the snot out of my Boxster!

I try not to be. I desperately try not to use the "L..." word when describing anything related to the Box.
Now that I use public trans. to work, the Box is just sitting in the garage. I bought with the intention as my daily, year round driver.
It's got a loan so now I have to think about selling and its hard emotionally
I guess I'm emotionally attached
"I love driving that car"
There I said it.
Let me wipe the tears

I really like my 03 Boxster S but I'm not emotionally attached to it. I'd probably sell it if I had a really good offer and I'd buy a 2008 or newer Corvette. It's a move I'm going to make at some point anyway.

Finally got a good pic of my new love....

She is damn near perfect condition and runs beautifully (only thing is a slightly low idle - about to post on that in tech talk). Both POs took such good care of her and the guy I bought her from was so nice to put an LNE bearing and new clutch in at 50k (just 3k ago). I completely appreciate the new sewn-in rear window from the PO as well. That was the only thing about the older ones I did not like...I guess having a new window gives me a few years to not think about it

Like an earlier poster mentioned, I am still in the honeymoon phase, but I have been through much tough love back in the 914 days. And those were pretty ugly compared to the beauty of the Box. Try continuing to love a 914 after you drop a valve and destroy a rare 2.0 head on a casual drive. It only gets easier from that....
