Insurance

Surprisingly as a 16 yr old sports car owner my insurance is not bad, why do many people experience cheaper rates with a boxster then say an s2000 two fairly similar cars?

1998 Dodge Neon daily driver = $39.88/month
1999 Porsche Boxster = $29.93/month

Don't ask me...but I won't argue with that

It's all about statistics and demographics.

Porsche owners are less likely to cost the company money than, say, Honda owners. Do Porsche owners drive their cars less? Take better care of their expensive cars? Learn how to drive better at PCA education days?

Probably, all of the above. When I traded my New Beetle for the Boxster, I was ready for a huge insurance increase. I was pleasantly surprised that it only went up something like 5%. Yet another advantage to owning a Porsche!

It also depends on where you live. Major cities with more things to hit and be hit by will increase your rates.
