Angry drivers window stuck down

I was driving down the road last night when suddenly for no reason my drivers side window dropped a little. (about the same amount as when you open the door) I pushed the switch to roll it back up, nothing happens. Next I try to roll it down, and it goes all the way down, but won't come back up at all. I figured that maybe the switch was bad, so I tried hooking it to the passenger switch, still nothing, so its not the switch. I dont think that its the regulator, it seems like something electrical. Fuse is good, Is there a relay somewhere for the windows, or does anyone have any other ideas of what it could be?

Is the top up or down? If it's up, make sure the recessed switch in the hole where you put the top hook is working. That has a lot to do with your windows working or not.

Try this...

Put your key in the door and turn the key all the way to the left and hold it. Then to the right and hold it. This should make your windows go up and down. If this doesn't work with both windows, you probably have a regulator out. That's my guess.

Smile fixed it

Thanks for the advice. The top was up, I undid the top latch, pushed the microswitch with my finger then tried it. Worked fine. Relatched the top, still working fine.

HI,

I suspect the Microswitch in the Windshield Header is stuck.

Try inserting a Pen, Pencil, Matchstick or something similar carefully into the Top Latch opening and try to work the switch free. These have a high incidence of sticking. Hope this helps...

Happy Motoring!...Jim'99
