Picked up my new (to me) 2000 986 in Speed Yellow yesterday. Super clean car that came with every slip of paper detailing every service from new - including RMS, A/OS, and IMS...! I paid on the higher side for a base car with 70K but given the history and the condition, especially compared with other cars I tested, it seemed worth it!! I've been a Mercedes guy for years, but have always wanted a Porsche.. I mean, really, who hasn't?

I'll be documenting ownership from time to time here, where I only just introduced the car at the end of our 991 piece.

Am looking forward to participating in the forum, and am actively searching for a glass wind deflector....

Cheers!

Congratulations on your Boxster purchase in the best year & color!

As you get more seat time you may decide it is also the best driving Porsche ever regardless of price.

Grats! I bought my 2000 S last year with 60,000 miles and quickly did IMS/RMS for peace of mind.Good for you that yours was already done.

Oh no.... not another Johnny Danger disciple with a Slowspeed Yellow car....

Welcome hitch - best of luck with the new wheels. Its a pretty good community here as long as you don't take everything too seriously - especially other owners of that particular coloured car.....

The Real Deal!

Nice , very nice, you are going to love the way this car begs you to push it. This car is made to drive hard and fast. I'm thinking back when I first bought mine, the excitement and all. Its been two years next month and 25,000 miles further down the road and I've got to say it still rocks! Enjoy

Was this car at Tyson's Porsche? I talked to Pat at the dealer about that car. Seriously thought about buying it, but I live on CA and would have been expensive to get it home.

Congrats

Thanks for the welcome and kind words, all!

@Len -yes, Tysons Porsche. I really sort of found it by mistake after looking at a boatload of crap cars. This one was clearly loved by the PO.

Hopefully see some local Boxster guys at Cars & Coffee in Great Falls tomorrow....

Yellow - The best color to have so other cars notice and don't cut you off (when passing at very high velocity)
