Congrat's on the new Vette! I have never been a big fan of Corvette's but anything new and fast deserves a big thumbs up! Drive it like you stole it.

I met a guy at the track last weekend with a brand new Stingray with 840 miles on it and he was flogging that car like an old horse. My first thought was that probably wasn't too good for a brand new engine. I applaud your sensible restraint!

I would say "color me envious", but the car isn't green.
Love it, congratulations. I love what they've done with the new Corvette.

Au contrare my friend! I am one that love both, and I am active on both 986 and corvette forums. You will be surprised how many of us "multi-brand car lovers" there are out there.
You should try it! You will appreciate automobiles for what they are more.

Nice car! I like the new Stingray although I do feel the Stingray badge does remind me more of horseshoe crabs. Darn New England upbringing! Enjoy!

Nice color. I just couldn't part with mine when I got the vette so now they keep each other company.

Looks like Chevy is getting close to going mid-engine on the Vette.

Very nice. Did you cross shop any other cars like a new Cayman or Boxster? curious about what led to your ultimate decision. Looks great, love the blue!

I did not... I love the Caymen and Boxster but needed to get the tire smoking, burbling V8 thing out of my system.

If they made this car about a foot shorter, with the engine in the middle, it would be the DE/AUTOX car of the decade.
They should really consider this. It would eat 911's, Boxster/Caymans, M3's for breakfast.

$60k for that level of performance is a bargain!!! (Read: GTR, 911TTS, F458)

Hey Perfectlap, I know you are an avid tracker as I am. But, considering all things equal (driver, blah, blah, blah,:ah , my C6Z06 already eats everything in its path (I only have DOT Hoosiers and race brake pads, stock suspension, stock engine, stock seat, etc)! Only GT3RS, 996Cup cars or F430 will give me a run for my money with even skills.

it has perfect 50/50 weight distribution...Why push the engine further back? Not to mention, look how small it is parked next to my old 986. It's actually pretty small...a lot smaller than I thought it was until I got it home.

Yup! Most folks have this notion that a vette is really big, but it is very close in size to a 911 in reality.,

Well, the new 'vette got downsized a bit, but it does have a wheelbase around 11" longer, and just feels bigger. I think it was the tall, squared off front fenders, which they have also improved. I'm not sure about the styling yet, but I will test drive one when I look to replace my Boxster.
BTW, who ever said 50/50 weight distribution is "ideal' ? The marketing people for front engine cars that can't do any better than that. It's always a compromise with design parameters, but a slight rear bias of 55% or so is better, for a variety of reasons, including traction, and reduced front scrub while cornering.
