Red face Speed Sensor Question - part 2

I am wondering if I am testing correctly the speed sensor.

How I got the 1.7k ohms was by testing one pin where it plugs into the wiring harness and the other pin right beside the first one.

Can continuity not be check from the magnet side to these two pins? When I touched the metal inside of the magnet and checked for continuity to either of the aforementioned pins - I get an infinite reading.

Note: This is only the left rear sensor.

I am trying to get the analog speedometer and odometer to work (and also turn off the ABS light which I am guess is related).

Could it be a bigger controller issue?

P.S. I am no electrical expert and proved that by trying to deconvolute the wiring diagrams to see which (singular or plural) speed sensors connect to the analog speedometer. (I have the Bentley repair book). I welcome any education one of you might offer.
