I'm not sure that outfit would work with my legs .

jb92563 09-17-2013 06:38 AM

It totally makes sense for a girl to accessorize with dazling colors.

Those pink wheels are like the nail polish for her Porsche.

But, just wait till she gets bored of that color...the garage will have dozens of rims of all different colors eventually

Better get stocked up on Plastidip :D

Its a sexy car no matter what color it is, some like it subtle and some like it to scream, variety is the spice of life.

Can you imagine a car show where every car is stock, with stock colors...

soucorp 09-17-2013 06:55 AM

:DGood thing you chose to go under the radar because really bright color wheels would cause too much attention!

C H E E R S -its all good!

I like the pink car better than the pink wheels, but hey, I'm a purist and like my aluminum painted calipers. Enjoy!

Ian c 09-17-2013 08:32 AM

We are going to see how they fade over the next few months .
There may be a colour change in the future , but I'd prefer to keep them pink :)

Nine8Six 09-17-2013 08:36 AM

lol pretty switched on colour mate. Go crazy, noting wrong

Ian c 09-17-2013 08:46 AM

There are a couple more small "visual" mods I plan to do to it this week then it is finished .
After that it needs suspension overhauling , and will need a new set of tires before the year is out .
Then we need to decide if we are keeping it or upgrading to a newer model .
If we keep it I will get the ims and rms done and add racing seats and harnesses and a roll extension .

I'd have gone with dayglo orange, but my car is black and it looks great on it.

Ian c 09-17-2013 10:56 AM

Orange or green where the other options .

On a Silver car I'd say the options are more limited. My guess would be Black or Gun Metal Grey Metallic......

I would usually refrain from ragging you but dude..............that pink is horrific......

mistermac99 09-17-2013 05:25 PM

Digging the color but...

As you can see, I went a different direction.

I'd never do black .
These wheels were bought powder coated black as stock .
I tried a gunmetal type grey on a black 964 once , I'm not a fan .
I normally do silver though . The right wheel in stock silver will look classy on any car .
My favourite 986 wheel is a stock 18" bbs .
I just wanted to do something a little different :D

I changed from genuine porsche pads so keeping them clean isn't so bad .

Awesome skillz !!! :D

might want to consider this in the future. They have hot pink. I'm dipping a fixed gear bicycle with deep v wheels for a friend in the 997 GT3 motif of gunmetal and orange (with a metallic flake).

"Onesies" have become very popular around the streets of Oc and la in the last few years and all the kids seem to be riding them .
Brightly coloured wheels seem the norm and the car has recieved a few "thumbs" from the street bike guys .

See !!
We're down with the cool kidz !!
:D

On a serious note :
I have been looking at plastidip as a temporary track alternative to blue masking tape ...
How easy is it to remove from paint and does it have any lasting effects on bodywork ?

jb92563 09-26-2013 11:45 AM

Gotta love those wraps!
