OEM Smoked Tailights?

Does anyone have OEM smoked tailights on their car? One of the porsche part site has it listed an a factory option, but cost mega bucks.over $600 for the pair...I am planning on replacing with the clears but the smoked are unique...

I don't think you are allowed to me a forum member AND have smoked tail lights! What do you think Brucelee!

I am just kidding, of course. No hate mail please.

I think applewood and cherry do a great job for smoking BTW!

To actually answer your question, I do not think Porsche released any smoked tail lamps. They have the red and orange, the red and clear, and the all red on the 550 edition. From what I've found, the smoked ones (partial or full) are aftermarket, from Asia and Germany.

BTW, the all smoked ones pictured above aren't legal in my neck of the woods, although they would look wicked on my black boxster.

I say upgrade to the red and clears because that IS a factory look, and the real deal isn't much more than the aftermarket versions if you buy on sale. Then people won't think you're an aftermarket modoholic.

I like the look of the smoked, but

I would think that the light is lessened to a degree that it might not be so noticieable.

I mean, the stock taillamps are so bright when on, I'll leave anything that will help someone from rear ending me.
