it's my understanding that it's Maine and Vermont that wants to become Canadian- not the other way around.

Let me see, we have westerners who want to be rid of southern Ontario and Quebec. Yeppirs, that'll work... Although the more I think about it, a country made up of Ontario and Quebec, the two founding nations as Upper and Lower Canada, would no doubt get along much better without the western provinces.... And we'd get to keep Canda's manufacturing base, its largest agricultural base, the St. Lawrence Seaway, the world's largest supply of fresh water, huge hydro electric production in Niagara Falls and James Bay.....
Cheers!
Brad

I guess I am showing my age, but I had never heard that expression before. The sound it describes, yes, but not the expression! Anyway, thanks to everyone for 'educating' me in the appropriate term for this critical bodily function.

Here's another tip from one "old guy" to another:
Never.........make a hand sign that requires you to hold the tip of your third finger with your thumb!
Just sayin'.....................

In Canadian speak, it's pronounced with an "eff" sound rather than an "eef" sound. Queffing
