Dgnarvs and dbansal, I'll be sure to post what I get and how it goes in. Right now I'm thinking Kenwood DNX570HD head unit, the Suncoast instalation kit, and a Kenwood Cmos-210 backup camera. I might go with a chepo backup camera, but haven't decided yet.

what do you mean by "have to" why is this a requirement to install a head unit?

Not strictly a 'have to' but why bother fitting a double din and not.

I would say on the Boxster, the biggest sound improvement is adding rear speakers.

I would also recommend a reverse camera, I bought a cheap one and it's great.

True...these kinds of upgrades do up the book value on the car... even though its aftermarket, as long as its done right...its a much more desirable car..

Which camera did you get?

I found the sound lacking with just the dash speakers and door subs, the rear speakers do make a difference. I got the kit in the link I send above, here is what they look like fitted:

I got this camera, it really is tiny. The reverse lights are plenty bright enough to use at night whereas the colours are fab during the day. It switches to reverse view on the HU when you select reverse:
