Don't know how to fix it, but if it were my car I would try disconnecting the battery for awhile and see if the ECU will reset. Worth a try and doesn't cost anything.

You are a star Spinnaker and Jsceash. Thank you so much! It has been for a service at a porsche garage and for some work elsewhere and neither could fix it. I had. I idea it was so simple. Thanks again!
