Taunted by Corollas ?

On my way home last night in the D-mobile, on three separate occasions I was taunted by a carload of less than scholarly looking guys in a "hopped up" Toyota Corolla with what looked like a coffee can for a muffler. Naturally, I snickered at their gestures. But, how should I interpret this ?

They obviouly did not notice your Strategic World Command sticker.

Perhaps its time to release the Trunk Monkey.

I think "less than scholarly" describes more than how they looked. But it also proves that your cover isn't blown, because they obviously didn't know it was the INfamous Johnny Danger they were taunting.

It's times like these that I would deploy the smoke screen and oil slick

I get that crap all the time. If I acknowledge them at all, it's just a sly smile and a head shake.

JD the invincible? You ask a question like this? With a new IMS bearing in your arsenal?

These would be my choices:

1. Haul a-se so you don't have to look at the little MF's again.
2. Pretend the Corolla POS does not exist. Totally ignore them.
3. Take the next right turn and ensure they don't follow you.

My choice would be #2. And hopefully knowing that in your mind that when you were their age you would never do something like that yourself. Am I correct in saying that or has your past come back to revisit you?!

In a situation such as this. I would not directly engage the lower classed vehicle. However if I were to run upon a spot in the road while such vehicle was around, that would be of challenge to the Boxster and joy to my senses, I would engage the road.

It's not a case of fear of bodily harm or danger (no pun intended ). After all, if needed I could simply order up a drone strike. Rather, it's more of an assualt on my ego. It's not like the D-mobile has side stripes on it or anything.

All this talk about super powers and drones will lead to the return of Godzilla from the ocean depths and all of our Boxsters will become toast!

No worries, Godzilla only eats Japanese cars. Would be a welcome visit to me.

Danger...I get this a lot. I take it in stride though. Just some kids or simply non porshe owners wanting to hear the box over 5k rpms. And as addicted to the sound I am, personally I can't blame them.
Coming home one night on the freeway, I get challenged by a VW. Dropped in 4th let him hear the howl. Upshift to 5th let him here some more and shut it down. After he caught up, he gave me a big thumbs up and went on his way. The guy probably has more respect for the car if he didn't before. What I don't get is the guy in the Caddy suburban trying to race me at the stop light. He's the guy thats probably saying....couldn't afford a 911. Either way, another smh boxster grin story. Love this car.

I usually just look over at them and say "Does your mom know you're driving her car?"

I could tell that one of the Corollas had some sort of forced induction system under the hood. It was comical to see the vehicle literally jump half a lane when the driver got on it. Although, it would be no laughing matter if the jackass lost control.

Well, then he was trying to race you, and would have probably won if he jumped a lane on-throttle. It could have had a supercharged v6 camry engine. Look up those on youtube for some track videos. I wouldn't want to encounter one.

Otherwise, if there were more than two people, you can almost guarantee these days that one of them's got their damn phone out and is recording it. They want to hear you rev, or race you in their sleeper with a kill video. I've seen sleepers like that going out and hunting for exotics to take down on camera. Can't blame them really.

A Boxster is no place to be wielding a chocolate bar, Johnny. For shame!
