IMS inspection?

Does any9one know if it's possible to insert a borescope into the lower bellhousing to see the ims? It's possible (but a long shot) my IMS has been upgraded when the new engine was installed. Just trying to figure out if I can see the IMS cover with the trans still mounted on engine. thx in advance.

Good question. I need to check mine as well (02 Boxster) as I want to get the "permanent fix" version. I need to verify that I still have the original. I bought it a week ago and have no idea.

If your IMS was upgraded, why would you even want to check.
It's done! Move on!

Going to have to search for DIY transmission removal now
but probably worth it in the long run

KJC, I don't get you?
He's says his IMS was upgraded!

So my point is.....why check?
Not sure there is any reading comprehension issue on my part unless you want to tell me otherwise?
