Question Key Remote Won't Work Even After Doing Sync

Hi All,

My key has not worked for many years due to the micro switches failing. Well, I bought an old used key and removed the micro switches from it and soldered them to my key. Also installed a new battery in the key. It works like new now. Well at least the red light blinks when you push the buttons.

But the remote does not do anything to the car. I read online the suggestions of:

1. Turn on the ignition, then remove the key and press a button within 6 secs.

2. Lock and unlock the car door with the key and press a button within 6 secs.

Tried both, but still not working.

Any suggestions or ideas?

Thanks!!!!

Ahh doc,
Were you wearing an apron, with one trouser leg rolled up, hopping on one leg whilst shouting 'howdy doody I'm you're man!" ?

No?

That's the issue!

I'll give that a go. But just in case that doesn't work, anyone have any suggestion

LOL!

Well not much more than I can say here to help, but I do have a PST2 and if someone can provide the instructions on how to check/modify the current key/alarm settings or program a new key while retaining the old key then maybe I could help you out if you decide to purchase a new key.

Well that would be awesome. I do have a new key with the code, just have not gone to dealership to have it synced to the car. Would be nice to get that done and still have the old key work too.
