Techart Style Side Intakes Yea or Nay ?

Ok, so the turbo style side air intakes got mixed responses. So, what about the Techart style ?

kjc2050 06-11-2013 05:08 PM

Wow. I like this less than the turbo style!!!

particlewave 06-11-2013 05:14 PM

Sorry JD...but I agree. Worse than the turbo. But, as has been said many, many times before, it's all about your own personal preference. Personally, I have never seen any aftermarket intake that I like better than the stock, but that's just me.

I give up. :(

thstone 06-11-2013 05:35 PM

That ^^ looks more like an exhaust than an intake!

I'd post up an opinion, but I had a side stripe on my Boxster (and I liked it) so my style sense is clearly questionable ... :o

Ckrikos 06-11-2013 05:40 PM

It might look ok without the fin.

I have a brand new set of these that I did not install. If interested, I will sell for $50 plus shipping. PM if interested.

happygilmour 06-11-2013 06:50 PM

I'll take them if you still have them.

Joe B 06-11-2013 06:52 PM

I don't see any reason to change the stock ones. I kind of like Boxster design features!

fatmike 06-11-2013 06:55 PM

Techart OK. I prefer the Turbo.

Can you photoshop them onto the Danger-mobile?

That looks better and you can't go wrong for $50, my favorite are the 03+ vents that are painted body color.

heliguy 06-12-2013 05:09 AM

Nay, go with the turbo...they will further confuse people as to what you are driving.

Dgnarvs 06-12-2013 05:35 AM

Turbo style.

I agree^, but of course I like the turbo style.:)
It mimics a Porsche design and looks great in person.

soucorp 06-12-2013 06:17 AM

If you don't want to look like tom, dick, and harry, I would do the Turbo style with black grille backing.
Will look good on your car!

no matter what style you go with they are all inserts, and look as such. they all have that modular plastic look, which is awesome... for a 95 civic :barf:

best upgrade for the intake imho, is to modify stock ones, to remove the fins, and add stainless mesh behind it, livens it up, subtle, and actually has a function

woodsman 06-12-2013 09:21 AM

hey that's a good idea CCSTUD17, thanks! Adding stainless is adding class!!!
Of all pictured I like the second one-
JD , have you considered adding red neon behind the grills? A man in your position needs to be a trend leader, after all!

I tried that look, decided that the oem with grille backing looked best in the end!

Yes. It's essentially the same without the fin.

drbodzin 06-12-2013 07:54 PM

Ok all, here are the same ones as the blue ones. I bought them for $130 and decided not to use them. You need to be aware that when you install them, the back edge will need to be molded or sanded to fit perfectly against the cars body.

I offered to sell them for $50 + shipping earlier and got a ton of interest. I will honor that offer, unless someone decides to offer more

PM your offers to me before Thurs 1pm PST.
