What Tires are you running on your Boxster
Hey guys I'm trying to decided what tires to get for my new 2000 S and wanted a little input from everyone on what they have tried and there likes and dislikes of the tires. I live in Alabama and take frequent trips to Florida so not really wanting a harsh or noisy tire but would like to keep performance in mind also the car will never see any snow but will see a lot of rain. Thanks and look forward to seeing what y'all prefer

My 2011 Spyder came with Bridgestone Potenza RE50A's. I would have preferred Michelin Super Sport's which I had on my 2008 Cayman S. Jury is still out on the Bridgestone's until I have more driving time on them. Bought my Spyder this Memorial Day and it only had 1,400 miles on the odometer. Currently at 2,100 miles.

I've use nothing but PS2's the past 7 driving seasons and +50,000 miles. On the final days of my 3rd set of tires. Excellent tires. My next set will be Super Sports. Or maybe I'd consider Yoko AD08's.

Just replaced the Bridgstone RE050's on my 2008 BS with Bridgestone Pole Position S-04's. Very happy and a great deal on Tire Rack right now.
BTW, Troutman - 9-year old rubber can be dangerous to your health. The experts say that the rubber compounds are compromised after 5 or 6 years, regardless of mileage.

I'm on Bridgestone S02a rubber. Work great in the wet, and stick like proverbial s#^% to a blanket in dry conditions.

Street - Hankook R-S3. Much higher dry grip than my PS2's (tradeoff for high dry grip is weak wet grip and can get loud as they wear).
Track - Nitto NT-01 or Toyo R888

I have Yokohama Envigor. They were 200 cheaper than the Michelins. I've had them on since October and seem to be holding up well.

I have Sumitomos in the fronts and Hankooks in the rear. I had all Sumitomo when I bought the car and like them quite a bit. If I can, I'll probably put the Sumitomos back on it when I put fresh rubber on it. I felt the rear end stuck better with the Sumitomos, but that decision is based on just a couple of weeks of driving on them than the months on the Hankooks. Either is a good value for the money and works well enough for the street.

I have Pirelli P7000 Super sport and have done 10k miles on them in the last 2 years.
I think they are fairly old and still have wear left on them. I wish they would wear out. Looking forward to getting Michelin All seasons hopefully by the fall. These would supplement my Bridgestone Blizzaks on 16 inch rims also old. Hopefully the Michelin AS would do overall well in snow(not as good as Blizzaks I would think) and could go year round perhaps?. Any comment on road noise from Michelin AS tires versus regular summer tires?

Closest in feel to an R-compound tire I've had so far. Excellent value for the price. Pretty common tire for cars that are driven to DE/AX.
Coupled with a 20lb or less wheel and the grip level is hard to beat for a street tire that is actually decent in the rain. There is now a an RE-11S so the RE-11 is out.
