Long Island / NY Boxster Meet
 

There are now a few boxster owners in my area and a few of them have reached out to try and maybe get together one day/night to shoot the breeze. If you are interested put your name now below and we will try and figure out a date, time and spot.

I'm right between the Bridgeport and new London ferries so that could be an option for you.

Ferry is like $60 it's cheaper to go around and takes the same amount of time

How does June 16th work for everyone? It's a Sunday. Maybe take a ride to a vineyard or two. Long Island vodka is out near me:).

Every Thursday evening starting now till fall is a decent car show get together in Riverhead LI. It's down on the Peconic river at the end of the Long Island Expressway 495. I might try to go next wk. drove by quick tonight and it was packed at 5 pm.

The Thursday night thing might be cool and also the 16th. I am about 10mins from Riverhead. If you are wondering where they are talking about it is directly behind the Long Island Aquarium or also called Atlantis Marine World. I'll head over there next Thursday if anyone wants to meet up.

I wouldn't mind crossing the bridge to see that meet. I will see if I can go on thursday. Maybe get some of my friends to come along. What is the exact address of the place?

I might actually be able to come down next Thursday. And if we're talking about vineyards, does that mean wine tasting? How classy! And I should find a date!

June 16th... it's Father's Day! I'll see if I can make it..... what time?

I didn't realize it was Father's Day. Let me know if that affects any of your chance of coming out. Yes we can go wine tasting. There are many beautiful vineyards out here that have food and music and a place to hang out and talk cars. I can provide a great top down driving route through some curvy roads and scenic areas on our way to our destination. We can all meet off exit 63 off the 495 on the north side park and ride on route 83. From there travel to the fun roads and then food and wine. Your thoughts everyone?

As far as times. How about a 11am meet and then go from there. Hit the vineyards for lunch probably just after noon. Plenty of time to go out to dinner with your family or what ever you may have planned. Let me know what times work for everyone. I. Open to all I put.

I just realized that the 16th is my girlfriend's birthday.... I'm taking her to see The Postal Service that night in the city. I'll be out in the Hamptons / Montauk are this weekend though....

Ok back to talking about the meet on thursday is it at a restaurant or something? Large plaza? Best Buy? I just want to get a concrete address to plug into my gps.

As far as for sunday I am not sure if i could go. I will see what I can do.

We should do a drive up the palisades to bear MTN. You guys on LI can also drive to captree island there is typically a car meet there sun mornings.

So I googled the address and found its about 90 miles away from me. WOW. Why is this meet all the way on the tip of long island. I thought it would be like max 35 miles or so. I still want to go so I will get back to you on that JAY. Also how long does this meet last? Till late or does it end early as it seems to start early and what is the turn out like?

I have never gone. Btw it is no where near the tip. Montauk is still like another 60 miles or so. :). We can plan a trip there if ya want. It's a nice drive.

My bad. What i ment was that it was on the other side of long island. Im about 18 miles from Manhattan. So I was expecting it would only be another 20 miles for the meet. But ya its not on the tip.

Any way where do you propose we meet up to drive for the meet, and around what time are we looking at.

I can meet you off the Long Island Expressway/495. Say exit 63 on the north side. There is a park and ride there right next to an applebees. Let me know your thoughts.

I have been before and it gets pretty packed. I live like 12 min from there. I drove by last wk and the lot was filling up at 5pm. It's all kinds of cars and trucks. That being said this wk will prob be 10 cars lol. They usually have live music and there are a couple spots right there for burgers and beers.

Ok let's make a meet time off the lie/495 for all that want to meet up prior to it. Exit 63 north side park and ride next to Applebee's. 4pm

I have the day ~mostly~ free, so I will try to make it out. Will be nice to take some pics with other p-cars. If I can go, I'll confirm and leave Brooklyn by around 1. It'll be nice to get out to the 'burbs for an afternoon ;)

Im going but I may be late because I had to get some stuff done at my store before I head out. I will try to get to exit 63 before 4:30 But I will send you a text or a call if I am delayed. But definitely look forward to being there.

I was there where the hell were you guys?!!;) There wasn't a great turn out probably because of the weather I guess. Maybe 2 dozen cars. I def had nicest Porsche, and the only lol. Ok maybe next week??

Springman, You never said you were going!!!!!!!!!! :) The fellas that came from out west got out this way real late. We wound up going down to port jefferson for some drinks and food. If it's nice out next week I will meet up, just not thursday night - I have work. Pic another day and I'd be happy to meet.

It was nice to meet you guys tonight. I know your still driving back west to your homes, have a safe trip and thanks for making the trek out east. Next time don't leave at rush hour from NYC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
