Where to find Raggtop?

I've also used just the shoebox top. My friend suggested a lamp shade, I guess you can see inside that way.
the shoebox approach is Good for doing a quick coat once a month.
Taping up the car with newspaper is indeed a pain. I had to do that recently to take care of some curb rash. When I was ready to paint the wheels with Wurth, the paint wouldn't come out of the can! ARGHHH. Had to untape the car.

I even sprayed my cloth softop cover with Raggtopp.

How often do you think raggtopp should be applied to a car that is driven about 5k miles annually and sits in a climate controlled garage? The car also rarely if ever sees rain or inclimate weather. I was thinking about once a year is sufficient but I was wanting to get some adivice.

I got my raggtop from my local dealer for 28.95.. seems to be the going rate..

well you have to reapply raggtopp protectant after each use of the Raggtopp cleanser so assuming you wash the softop a couple of times a year....
During the summer when there is little rain fall and lots of dust several cleanings would be smart. Definitely if you get bird bombs or tree sap on there.
But dust is the big culprit, not so much winter. When dirt and debris get in between those fibers is when the break down of the canvas begins. Another reason why you should never get car wash soap on there, detergents attract dust. a weekly rinsing with a stiff stream is a good idea during summer.

Once a year should be plenty. Easiest way to tell when it needs it is if you see any spots on the top where the fabric itself appears wet when the car is wet. If so, it is time to freshen the Raggtop. If all you see is beading, no need to apply again for now.

Thanks for the advice guys. Perfectlap, I've read several sources that say don't wash/rinse the top unless it is visibly dirty. I make a point not to wash the top and also I avoid getting it wet when washing the car. Plus, washing the top would just remove the raggtopp protectant much more quickly I would imagine. Does anyone else follow this rule or do most of you wash or rinse the top when washing the car?

washing only when visibly dirty, true but Rinsing from what I read from Hartz is ideal, it also lets you see when the protectant is dimishing. Blot dry when rinsing is done.
Letting dust accumulate in between long periods of washing is not a good idea. I would agree that you should wash only when necessary.
