Help sourcing convertible top snap-on cables
I've removed the rear shelf compartment storage box to replace the rear speakers, and noticed one of the cables had snapped of, broken cleanly.
Not sure when this has happened as I only have had the car for a short time, but I was wondering if anybody has the part number for the cables, and possibly an online place to purchase it. Many thanks in advance... |
Are you talking about the cable that is wrapped in a black "hose", with silver "balls" that snap onto the top and the car? If so those are convertible tension cables. They sell them on the Pelican parts site pretty cheap, and easy to put on.

Noted, yes its one of the tension cables, thanks guys.
Any particular reason they would break? Is it just material fatigue, or does it point to an incorrect top installation issue? Edit: I just noticed mine either didn't have the circlip on the top connection, or it flew somewhere in the bowels of the car when I removed it. I may need to source that one too, or fabricate one. |
