Boxster7614 is the culprit, I was shopping around for different headlights and all I could find was those led units with the double row of lights, too much for my liking and then I saw these, I purchased new original lights and sent them to boxster7614 for the retro fit. He promptly had them back to me within a couple of weeks, completely changed the look of my car.....

Here is the original thread...

I used his as a guide to do my own.
The only difference was that I left the stock reflectors chrome because it looks better on a white car.
Bought the "clear" style halogen headlights on eBay for $300. Have about $550 wrapped up in the project(headlights and bixenon retrofit kit).

COPE those headlights have the glowing ring around them like BMW owners can get aftermarket. The 987 mirrors match the front bumper perfectly (991 mirrors look like 986 to me). Good location choice for picture too. YOU Folks is dreaming GOOD!

The front bumper is made by a company called prior designs, excellent quality/make/fit. Rep is out of California, he said I was one of the first people to receive there product for a boxster in north America that he new of. So it's a rare find and unique look....

Damn that looks sweet! Wish the pic was turned the right way LOL Can't believe what a difference it makes, you should post a side by side pic comparison with old lights vs new. Those mirrors look sweet too.

Now you just need to get the silver coated bulbs for the turn signals and get rid of the amber peaking through.

Cope - sweet looking ride with/without new lights - of course much better with the new lights.

Boxster7614 - man, my patience got the best of me - I pulled trigger on another project, which took funds away from the lights. Let us know next time you have the itch to make more.

As a consolation DIY cheap-light project, I added LEDs for my DRLs/parking lights.

If only there was a way to make this work with the stock DRLs.

Thumbs up

I want those angel eyes to be my daytime runninglight. I don't care if they've become associated with BMW, they're super cool and updates the car to NOW!

Nice lights!!!.

I was looking at stuff like this as well DIY Light Accents

and the complete DIY video for the cat eyes DIY Angel Eye LED lights

Personally I like the above link style Angel Eyes because you can NOT see the individual LEDS and looks more subtle and sophisticated IMHO.

Does not create as much glare either since it uses the light conduit/diffuser principal instead of shining LEDS straight out the plastic.

This should would work with the stock setup as well.

The CCFLs have a dead spot, though, which is why I didn't like them. LEDs with diffuser looks pretty good, but either way has its downsides.

FYI: theretrofitsource is phasing out CCFLs in favor of LEDs.

CCFL

LED with diffusser(on the right).
