Almost done - Exhaust question

Had a hard time attempting to put on the connector pipes. After I gave up and cleaned up for the day I had the idea of putting the connector pipes on before mounting the muffler. Does this sound like the best strategy before I try again tomorrow?

Also, one of my connector pipes has a slight crack. Incredibly slight. Very difficult to see. I checked a couple places and saw that that part cost $642. That is way out of the question right now. Is this price right and if so, is there any type of epoxy or something I can put on it to at least prevent it from getting worse.

the last time I did this, I remember I had to wiggle, jiggle and bang it a few times...I also remember pushing the muffler allllll the way onto the pipe as far down as it could go on one side, and positioning the other pipe on, and wiggling it back over. Make sure all of your clamps are as loose as you can get them.

There are lots of products for cracked pipes...if you can't afford replacing it now, check out the exhaust section at your local parts store.

Don't know about the crack thing but I know the pipes were stubborn.

I used a large radiator band to get it going in the correct direction. I have found it is easier to work back to front. In other words, start at the muffler C-Pipe and undo the fasteners and work your way back. Get the C-Pipe fitted on the Cat Bypass first.

NOTE: One of the the Cat Bypass pipes has an intentional split in it so you can get it over the other straight pipe.

Good luck and make sure to eat your Wheaties!
