Wonder how much snow they can hold. Let's say a foot of wet snow. If they can that would be perfect for my Mom's place in Adirondacks.

Ugh, ugh, ugly.
Sort of okay in the backyard, but really awful on the driveway.
Someone in my neighborhood has one, looks like they are camping out on the driveway

I probably would just use it for camping.

They will hold a surprising amount of snow, but you should clear it with a roof rake from time to time. Also, the sun tends to rot them out after a few years.
