Why is it everytime someone makes a crazy looking car like that they paint it an even crazier color? That is the ultimate disrespect to a boxster.

I love the color orange! But, that's because I am an Illinois fan. Go Illini. They are ranked #9 right now...and moving up!

According to the auction, it's a 2005...
The VIN says 2001. That makes more since since the "donor vehicle" had 57k miles.
And how about this boast?
"This car is so rare and so certain to retain its value that you could undoubtedly drive it for a year and sell it for the same price you paid for it!" -carcrazygentleman (Ted)
Even with a $48,900 reserve Ted?
I'll give him credit for his auction description... that's the longest description I've ever read without every other word spelled (or spelt, if you will) incorrectly.

The front end is pretty cool, in a less over the top color with some more tasteful wheels it could work. The sides looks like that MR2 Roja I always see in the import magazines. The mirrors are plain goofy. And why did they put lawn furniture on there as a roll bar?

I always wanted a very expensive one-off car with a salvage title.
Hey hey hey!

Yeah, I noticed that too which is why I titled this thread "986 Carrera GT".
Seems there's all sorts of misclassified cars out there on ebay, just to get your attention. I hate that.

look it says that this car is an automatic, you can see from the pics that there is no tip in there, then they say it is not!! they could of at least use an S to make such an exciting exotic car (not) it is definetely not 2005 more like first generation 2.5 boxster and where do they find 240bhp from this engine even with the little tweaks advertise, the only lucky person to buy this car or the likes will have to be blind or being a serious sucker to part with his/her cash
oh by the way you bet this is a one and only exemple and hopefully never done again!
see ya

Ya' know, the basic lines of that car aren't half bad.
I like the front except for the headlights, and the rear view except for the clumsy roll bar treatment. Unfortunately the sides have a pasted-on look.
It's better than most of the tuner mods that have been done for the Box.
I wouldn't actually BUY that one, but if Porsche came out with a toned-down version with about 350hp, they'd sell 'em all day long for $75k or so.
Baby Carrera GT. Not a bad idea, considering that the big one seems to have reached the limit of it's market at $450,000.
