California Festival of Speed April 5-7 2013

April 5-7 is the California Festival of Speed at Auto Club Speedway Fontana CA. This is the largest Porsche event in the west. If you consider yourself a car guy/gal, you won't want to miss it so mark your calendars now!
Club Racing, Time Trial competition, Pirelli GT3 Cup Racing, Concours, Automotive Vendors from all over the west, Mini autocross, drive your own car on the fabulous Fontana Roval racetrack during lunchtime track tours, Cars-for-sale lot, Porsche parts swap meet, and more. Sit up in the VIP seating for the racing sessions and then walk the pits to check out all the amazing race cars. Be there!!!

Cool. Thanks for posting. Just put it on the calendar. I was just checking to see if they had scheduled Rennsport V. No news yet.

I'll be there competing in the Time Trial events!
Maybe all of us 986Forum members can meet up sometime during the weekend?

Seriously, we will expect a full report with TONS of pictures, Topless!

And I thought you were a Cali girl.... Two words:
ROAD TRIP!
I am a pretty lame photographer but we shall see. Maybe I'll get a nice vid of thstone and I going nose-to-tail at 135 mph in the Roval. That should be pretty exciting!

Any and all 986Forum members are encouraged to stop by our rig and say hello. If you stop by after 5pm (track cold) there might even be a cold beer with your name on it. We are pretty easy to spot:

Wow I'd like to go!Maybe we can all caravan there together?!
The So cal folks meet up with Nor cal folks and we all caravan there!!
Someone needs to organize this. Someone that's familiar with the area.

All the details about the event are listed in the link above. If you are coming in from out-of-town the event hotel is the Hilton Garden which is nice and very reasonable at $82/night for FOS attendees.
As the Zone8 DE/TT Chair I expect to be pretty tied to the event with last minute details so probably wouldn't be available to lead a caravan. I will be there essentially all weekend so look for me. I expect about 40 986 Boxsters to be running in the event between TT and Club Racing.

			Looks like a great event.
Do I need to be a PCA member to attend even if I don't participate in the trials or autocross events?

Man, this is another reason why I want to move to California. State with the biggest car culture! Texas may be big, but it's full of trucks! |

No you don't.
Go to the link and read the flyer.
There's a free parking pass as well.

Be careful of what you're wishing for - its also called Commiefornia. Be ready to leave the rights that you're used to having in Texas at the Arizona border.

I didn't fare quite as well earning 2nd place in my TT class to a very fast driver in a well prepared 964. Still earned enough Z8 Series points to capture the overall lead though.

Spring Mountain in May, here we come!

That's awesome! Trust me, I would rather race than just show. But I haven't had the DE yet. Maybe next year.
