				Gas cap
			 
 
			Next time you gas up, take a close look at the gasket in your cap.  
13+ years of aging looks like this. Avoid the CEL.

			were you getting a strong smell of gas near the front of the car around the filler area? Do you know the latest revsion number for the replacement?

Didn't notice any gas smell, but an occasional CEL after filling up with "petrol". 
I don't think there is a latest revision for the gas cap, unlike the radiator cap that has had a couple of revisions.

			I changed mine out a couple of years ago when I saw it looking like yours. I wasn't getting any symptoms yet.

			Delivered - it was £15.00 for an original part.That kind of maintenance i can live with!
 
 Same here Mark, no CEL as yet but for £15.00 i thought i'd head it off at the pass as mine looked just like Spinnaker's picture.

			I replaced mine last year, was looking like the above pictured. Plus the tether broke, so why not.

			Alas my gas cap has an old cracked seal. Its a 2000 without a tether. The new part from Pelican has a tether and they show a plastic rivet to attach, but I don't see any place for this to attach in my car. What am I missing? Can someone post a pic of this. 
 I could just cut the cord but it would be nice to have.
