Which maf for my boxster ????

hI Friends,

I own a boxster 2.7 , 1st Reg 10/99.

I am currently in the process of replacing the MAF .
The one on my car is Bosch 99660612400 for E-gas .

But ! Everywhere I check it seems it should be Bosch 99660612300 !!!

I have sent for a replacement , obviously with the same code as was in the engine !?!

Can anyone please enlighten me , or is there someone with this model / year and can check their MAF part number PLEASE

if you have a 99, the MAF you need is:
996.606.123.00 (for non egas TB)
on the other end, the 2.7l engine was introduced only in year 2000
what kind of TB you have?

Mine is e-gas thats why I presume it will be a 124 code , like the one in the car

you might be right.
look at this link:
Porsche Boxster Air Cleaner Parts
part # 7 is the MAF sensor.
in the table to the right, you can see more then 1 option.
on the remark column, you can fined your year, and on the model column you can find the engine type. M-XX
you can confirm by looking at the engine number printed on the block.

Got the new MAF and the car is RE-BORN))

Here is the procedure I followed :-
1) Disconnect battery for 10 mins or longer .
2) Open top to access engine compartment .
3) Remove old MAF with Tamper proof Torx T20.
4) Hold MAF by sides and unclip connector .
5) Connect new MAF , without touching anything !
6) Place new MAF in place and tighten T20 screws .
7) If more than 10 mins has elapsed , re-connect battery terminal .
8) Switch ignition on for 1 min , then off , WITHOUT starting the engine .
9) Now switch ignition on and start the engine .
10) Close engine access compartment .

Mine started perfectly and run on idle within 1min .
Car has been transformed and the fuel efficiency is back to normal with no flat spots
across the RPM range .
