pjq Registered User Join Date: Dec 2010 Location: Eastern canada Posts: 262	2nd owner, 2004 Boxster S, 40000 miles, Mobil1 0-W40 just changed approx. 6-7 hrs before failure. oil changed every 7 - 8000miles. start up shiftting 1st - 2nd approx 2300 RPM then when engine up to temp. shiftting 3200 - 3500RPM unless I want to pass! Engine shut down on her own, then when stopped I restarted, she stated immediately, that was my introduction to the "death rattle". Not knowing the problem I restarted the engine, briefly, two more times after this.
