Do it! Do it! Do it!
I got the HF lift as part of the budget of getting my 986S. the only thing I don't like about it is that I didn't get one 7 years ago when I was first looking at getting one and they were $699 full price.
They indeed have gone up in price. They were at $1399 full price, but on a small sale at $1349 in April when I ordered mine, but I used the 20% off coupon and got it for $1170 including $89 shipping to the nearest terminal and picked it up with a trailer on my pickup.
I wouldn't hesitate for a minute if I had to do it all over again, I love mine.
