Tire sizing, what size do I need for a 99 Boxster?
I'm looking a t a set of 19" wheels to put on my 99 Boxster and need a little help. The size on the car are the factory 17" wheels 205/50/17 Front and 255/40/17 rear with the factory width. The new wheels I'm looking at are 19x8 for the front and 19x10 for the rear both with a 50mm offset. What size tires would I need to purchase? Also would the tires stick out past the wheel wells with these rim widths and offset?

With 98 & 99 models using 19" was discouraged, later models had more reinforcement, hence the usage. I have read about people using 19" on 98's without issue, maybe Mr. Danger will assist you, he's like the guru of offsets and fitments, many famous people have sought his council...

I wear 8 1/2 B width.

Ghostrider - thanks for the info, hopefully Mr Danger will chime in:D
JCB - Looks good!!! I want a look that fills up the entire wheel well and is flush with the car which looks like you achieved. |

shadrach the mind reader, I was thinking the same thing. If you are going for a look IMO, it would be better to make the wheel wells look fuller with a PSS9 suspension which will lower the car a bit. That way, you get the look and sharper handling.

18's worked perfect for me, think 9.5" in back with plenty of room for 25mm spacers to. Any bigger I thing I' be loosing fillings.

On my old 98 I used to run 235/35/19 front and 265/30/19 rear. No problems at all.
