If you are using that to get a reading you need to reset it now and then so it can recalculate the AVG for where your driving, highway or City.

I calculate mpg for every tank and keep a running avg with an iPhone app. I have never gotten more than 310 miles out of a tank and I was running on fumes when I did that...16.83gal tank took 16.708
