I use these. I keep two sets in the trunk.
If I'm only parking for an hour or less I just park a long walk away. the average idiot who is likely to ding a door next to him won't park that far. I also avoid parking at the bottom of a sloping parking lot where a shopping kart might roll towards me, park at the top of the hill. And always look for the parking spot where someone can only park on one side of you if far away parking is not available. door shox http://www.doorshox.com/DOORSHOX-GALLERY/DSC_0240.JPG |

If I know I'm going to have to park in da 'hood then I just take the truck instead. |
Another good tip, avoid parking next to two door cars with back seats or in other words really long doors that open very wide. I like the protectors except where I live they might actually cause someone to damage the car, why? because they can't have one.

it amazes me how people will circle around for 10 minutes to find a parking spot near the entrance of a store just to avoid having to walk an extra 60 seconds or less. Or worse the maroons who will park right next to you even though the parking lot is 80% empty.
One time someone did this before I walked too far away so I got back in the car and moved it 10 feet right in front of them. I'm 99% sure they have no idea what they did was retarded. Another time a lady friend of mine started whining about walking that whole 60 seconds and I told her to count the number of cars near the entrance that had no door dings. I think she found one out of every 8 cars had pristine doors. |
I also avoid parking at the bottom of a sloping parking lot where a shopping kart might roll towards me, park at the top of the hill.
This reminds me of a highschool friend that made this mistake with his 12 year old Pontiac sedan. Costco size cart rolled downhill into his quarterpanel & made a noticable dent. He reported it to his insurance co & they told him the $900 cost would total his car! :D |
I try to stay away from parking near driving ranges.

I don't park in my mother -in -law's driveway
|
I guess some times is doesn't matter...last week in the middle of the night in my driveway, some prick slashed my roof with a knife and stole a piece of tupperware that i had left on the seat.
|
That really sucks to lose a good piece of tupperware.
