Road Atlanta/PCA 50th report

Great weekend at Road Atlanta. PCA had a good setup - parking area for Porsches, hospitality tent with free water and sodas, great location overlooking the track, tables and umbrellas to get out of the sun. Jim Ellis (local Atlanta dealer) brought some new cars to look at, touched a personal desire with the Speed Yellow 987S. Also nearby was a Speed Yellow GT3. Yellow heaven.
Got to see the Club Coupe up close. Beautiful car. Didn't win it. Darn. But I can say this - the guy from White Plains that did win it will have to have that smile removed surgically, looked like it was on there for good.
Walked around the pit lane and looked at all the race cars. ALMS has a thing where the spectators can walk around the cars on the grid just before the race start.
Saw a good race. Most enjoyable competition to watch was the Corvette vs. Aston Martin in GT1. Porsche took GT2 places 1 through 5. No surprise.
Nice weekend.
Will post pics as soon as I shrink the files.

That made a lifetime fan out of me. What a remarkably different atmosphere to F1, where you have armed personnel keeping you out of the paddock. Getting your picture taken with a multiple time LeMans winning machine while JJ Leto does a speed channel interview 10 feet away is a pretty cool thing.
