Damp carpets / remove seats - is it really that easy???

Hi,

I am planning on removing my seats tomorrow to unblock the drainage holes and stop the wet carpet. Is seat removal really as easy as 4 bolts on each seat to un screw, un clip the seat belt wire and that's that?? Anything I need to know??

My car is a 1997.

Thanks.

you need torx sockets. you can try using a nomal socket, but i blew two apart in the process.

Remeber to disconnect the batteries first before removal/disconnecting wires, AND connect wires back before connecting batteries..

The connector can be tricky

If you're trying to disconnect the connector without looking at it, it may be a little tricky. IIRC, there is a sliding collar which locks the connector in place

+1 - if you don't do this you will be stuck with the airbag light on. Also know that you will have to re-enter your radio code after disconnecting the battery.

I got those bolts out with a 12-point socket. I think it was 10mm. Didn't have torx sockets at the time.

Ya, theres a total 4 bolts for each seat. One in each corner. You need to scoot each seat all the way back & then all the way forward respectively to get the front and back bolts out. Unplug wires where you see them.

Absolutely do not let the water fester down there.

Regards, PK
