Xenon headlights

I have a 2003 Boxster with xenon headlights. When I turn on the low beams nothing happens, only the parking lights are on. When I flash the brights, they flash as they should. When I set the lever to high beams, nothing happens. Am I missing something here? Do I need to replace the bulbs?
Thank you.

I just had this two weeks ago. It was the light switch that needed to be replaced. The part is about $150 and an easy DIY. See Pedro's site for instructions.

Check out Suncoast the headlight switch is on sale for $99. Pedros directions says you'll need a Torx 12 for the dash screws. I couldn't find this size anywhere, but I was able to loosen the screws with both a Torx 15 and Torx 20 bit.

Where is this elusive switch? Is it on the steering sticks? Behind the steering wheel? Kind of look like ears or is that just the stalks?

Pardon my dumbness but I have been thinking it was the actual connection the headlights were making….so I have been digging around there. Now is looks like you may have uncovered the real culprit! Where was it? Do tell.

Its the actual rotary light switch that you use to turn the lights on. Here's Pedro's link:
